PLANNED MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME
Applicable to fresh air intakes, aggressive/hostile/inclement conditions
and coastal areas.
Suitable access to dampers, for maintenance and inspection purposes,
shall be provided by others.
The Maintenance department responsible for this programme should
keep a Log of Date and type of Maintenance carried out.
· Dampers should be visually inspected and their operation
checked a minimum of once every three
months.
· Any dirt or foreign matter that may affect the correct operation
of the damper should be cleared, from the blades and blade drive area.
· Damper inner casing and Blades should be cleaned and sprayed
with a light protective lubricant (such as Rocol Z30 *), with special
attention being given to the blade end bearings and the damper being
worked manually through its full travel to ensure free running of
the gear train.
· On dampers with External Linkages the blade linkage pivoting
points shall be sprayed with
a light oil (*) to aid movement.
· Dampers with concealed linkages can be sprayed with a light
oil (*) to the drive areas.
· Spring Return Motorised Damper blades can be wound and locked
open for inspection purposes without the electrical supply by means
of a manual crank key that is supplied attached to the actuator. The
damper will revert to its initial position when unlocked and allowed
to rewind.
· Generally no spares are required for the Damper head units.
The actuators are maintenance free and should be replaced in the event
of failure.
